Hi there, I’m Erin.
I’m the crochet designer behind Simply Made by Erin. I started crocheting over 12 years ago. The time has absolutely flown by, I can’t believe it’s been that long! I live in a small town outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, with my husband of 16 years, son, and Golden Retriever Tobey.

How It All Started
Back in 2011 my husband’s job moved us across country. We left my hometown state of Arizona and arrived in Connecticut (on New Year’s Day), where I became a stay at home mom to my three year old son, Owen. Owen is 15 now and getting ready to get his driving permit!
It was the first time in my adult life I hadn’t worked outside of the home. Before crochet, I was in banking for about six years, and I processed benefits and payroll for our family’s business, for about four years after that.
Out of boredom, I started to dabble in crochet. I taught myself by watching tutorials and videos online. It really clicked for me, and I eventually opened my Etsy Shop. I started out selling hats and scarves, and shortly after added a few crochet patterns. Writing crochet patterns was a huge learning curve, but I figured it out, and I’ve been sharing my designs ever since. I also sell finished pieces in my Etsy shop.
I’ve evolved over the years and home decor has really become my passion. I now specialize in all things pretty for the home. My creations consist of a lot of baskets and planter covers, oh yeah, did I mention I’m an avid houseplant collector too? I can’t get enough of them!
My Mission
I want my blog to be a beautiful platform to share my patterns with you. I may even share a house project here and there because, you all seem to enjoy that too.
Some of you prefer to have an ad free, printable pattern, so have no fear, I will continue to have my patterns listed on Etsy, Ravelry, and LoveCrafts as a PDF download.
Furthermore, nothing else is changing. I’m just striving to have a nicer place to share my ideas, instead of you all fumbling through my Instagram looking for the info. I can’t wait to share with you!

Erin, love what you’re doing here. I hope you’ll be able to keep it relatively ad-free. It makes the user experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you for the sweet words Louann! I’m glad you’ve been able to find a few new patterns, keep checking back as I’ll be adding more soon. I will be adding ads, as that’s how us designers are able to keep sharing free patterns with you, but It may be awhile until they kick in, so definitely take advantage of it now.
