Sizing
The Fall Crochet Pumpkin Wreath shown, is made with a 18 inch grapevine wreath. It creates a nice full size wreath, perfect for your front door. You can experiment with any size wreath form you’d like. Simply follow the basic instructions below.
The finished size is approximately 25-30 inches across the widest parts of the wreath, including embellishments.

Materials
18″ Grapevine Wreath (or desired size)
Floral picks, faux greenery, faux spiders, etc.
Floral Wire
Wire cutters
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun (helpful, but optional)
Skeleton Hands and Skull (optional, mine from JOANN)
Crochet, knit, or pre-made pumpkins (free crochet & machine knit pumpkin patterns linked below)

You can choose any array of embellishments that you’d like. I used about 8 different floral picks. Most of them were from The Dollar Tree (in store), and a few were from Michaels. I found the glitter spiders from The Dollar Tree, they’re clip-on and come in a set of 4. The gold spiders were originally silver, and I sprayed painted them gold. The video below goes into greater details about the greenery used.
Pumpkin Patterns
For the crochet and machine knit pumpkins, shown on the wreath, I used the following free patterns from my blog.
The Crochet Mini Ribbed Pumpkin Pattern
The pattern sizing is fully customizable, so I made a few different sizes. The two larger pumpkins shown, are the exact same stitch count from the pattern instructions. I’d make a few slightly smaller also. Just add less beginning chains and rows to the pattern.
Knitting Machine Pumpkin Pattern
If you don’t own a knitting machine, just create an extra mini ribbed pumpkin from the above pattern. I made a mini with only about 30 rounds on the machine and followed the rest of the pattern instructions exactly.
Yarn
Listed below are the yarns and colors used. The individual patterns above have alternate yarns listed. Experiment with different yarn fibers to add beautiful texture to your wreath.
Wool Ease Thick & Quick in the colors Mustard and Fall Leaves
Hobby Lobby, Yarn Bee XXL Cotton – (sadly this yarn has been discontinued)
Hobby Lobby Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Yarn in the color Tobacco (mini knitted pumpkin)

From Fall to Halloween!
Let’s change things up for Halloween! Add some spooky skeleton hands and a skull, to create a spooky touch for the month of October!
I attached the skeleton in the same manner as shown in the video and written instructions below (tied on with floral wire). It’s easy to add and remove as needed. I keep the pumpkins up throughout September, and then add the skeleton on Oct. 1st. Once Halloween is over, the wreath goes back to Fall throughout Thanksgiving.
I purchased the skeleton hands & skull from JOANN, but similar items can be found in most big box craft stores.

Adding The Embellishments
The first step was adding the floral picks to the wreath (I added about 8 total), and this was the easiest part!
You can see I focus most of my greenery on the left side of the wreath, layering multiple stems together creates a beautiful, full wreath. I used the ends of the stems and secured them in between the woven grapevine. I found they held in place quit well, and I didn’t need to use hot glue. You can cut the floral picks down, with your wire cutters, and secure with hot glue, as needed. I left most of mine intact.
The glitter spiders have alligator clips on the back, so I just clipped them in place. If you can’t find clip-ons, you can hot glue them in place.
I used floral wire to secure the pumpkins (see video above), and threaded the floral wire through the bottom of the pumpkins, with my tapestry needle. I then pre-placed the pumpkins where I wanted them and weaved the floral wire through to the back of the wreath and twisted it, to hold in place. Make sure to weave the floral wire within the greenery, so it’s hidden.
Feel free to play around with placement and different florals, the options are endless! Once you have everything secure and in place, your Fall Crochet Pumpkin Wreath is complete, hang and enjoy!!
