How To Make The Crochet Bunny Garland Pattern

Easter is almost here, lets learn how to make The Crochet Bunny Garland Pattern!

I’ve been having so much fun making garlands for every season, and I just knew I needed to make a cute little bunny, to add to the mix!

With the use of Bernat Blanket yarn and faux fur, we get a cute, fuzzy bunny, to string across our mantle this Spring!

The Crochet Bunny Garland Pattern is an advance beginner project that works up fast with a few basic crochet stitches. We’ll be working in the round and learning a fun decrease method that makes things nice and tidy.

Grab you supplies and let’s start crocheting!

How To Style The Crochet Bunny Garland

Below is an example of how I styled The Crochet Bunny Garland around a fireplace mantel. I used small command hooks, in each corner of the mantel, to secure the twine.

Simply tie a knot around the hook. I like to create a nice drape in the center. The garland would also look amazing hanging on a mirror or hutch.

The colors shown are:
Sunday Times, Misty Jungle Green, Mellow Mauve, & Aubergine

Yarn Suggestions For The Crochet Bunny Garland Pattern

The Crochet Bunny Garland Pattern is written using size 6 super bulky yarn. I prefer Bernat Blanket & Bernat Baby Blanket Yarn.

Below are the suppliers I recommend:
Amazon or Like To Know It (LTK)

For the bunny tail I used Lion Brand Go For Faux (color Husky) and Hobby Lobby Fur The Moment (color Chocolate Brown). These two fur yarns are almost identical and come in many fun colors.

Note: If you happen to have Lion Brand Go For Faux Thick & Quick, it’s actually 3 separate fur strands woven together, just separate the strands and only use one strand.

The colors shown below are:
Vintage White, Green, Melon, & Bubblegum

Alternative Yarn Suggestions

Feel free to experiment with different yarns, but please note the gauge may turn out smaller or larger depending on what you use. If you change the yarn size of the project, be sure to adjust your hook size accordingly.

Some of my favorite yarn alternatives are as follows:
Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick
Lion Brand Yarn Hue + Me (2 strands held together)

Sizing

The garland length is fully customizable. I made 5 bunnies and 8-9 eggs, and the garland fit perfectly on my fireplace mantle that measures 45 inches long.

When measuring the twine length, cut it several feet longer than you need, to allow room for drape and hanging.

Chain Space (ch-sp)
A chain space is the space/gap in your work that is created by making a chain. The space is located below the chain.

Normally you’d insert your hook into the front and back loops of the stitch, but when you work into a chain space you insert your hook into the space underneath the chain.

Take a long piece of twine (approximately 80 inches) and thread the bunnies on using a tapestry needle.

I thread through the very top of one or both ears (as shown below), depending how I want the bunny to hang. Adjust the spacing as desired.
