Styling Ideas for The Crochet Flat Bottom Basket Pattern
The Crochet Flat Bottom Basket Pattern is versatile and stylish. Whether displayed on a shelf, table, or hanging on a hook, it adds functionality, decor, and organization.
Here are a few of my favorite ways to style The Crochet Flat Bottom Basket Pattern:
- For decorative purposes, it can hang on a hook, sit on a table, or shelf and hold a houseplant.
- Hang it on a decorative hook to hold odd and ends, such as dog leashes, house keys, wallet, chapstick, etc.
- Perfect to store bathroom, nursery, pantry, or entryway odd and ends.

Yarn
The Crochet Flat Bottom Basket Pattern is written using Bernat Maker (two strands held together). This is a size 5, bulky, tube style yarn made of cotton on the outside and nylon in the center of the tube.
I love Bernat Maker, they recently re-branded and have a bunch of new colors! It has a tendency to sell out often, so I recommend stocking up. The skeins are very large, so I feel like you get a lot for the price.
Colors shown throughout blog post are Cream and Clay.
Below are the suppliers I recommend:
Amazon or Like To Know It (LTK)

Yarn Alternatives
My second yarn choice for The Crochet Flat Bottom Basket Pattern is Cover Story™ Lazy Days Thick & Quick® Yarn (one strand).
– The gauge is just slightly smaller than 2 strands of Bernat Maker held together.
– This one worked up a bit more structured than Bernat Maker, but it still looks great.
Feel free to experiment with other yarns, but please note the gauge may turn out slightly smaller or larger depending on what you use. The best way to create a sturdy basket is to use a nice thick yarn and tight stitch.

Screw on Tags
I recently created a blog post on the different crochet tags I use. The full post with extensive detail can be found here.
– For The Crochet Flat Bottom Basket Pattern, I used Ultrasuede, screw on, custom logo tags from: Angie & Britt
– I’ve also used tags from Savlabot & Grain Deep, in the past.
– You’ll also need Chicago Screws to attach the tags.
