Embellishments & Wooden Tags
One of the most enjoyable parts of making pumpkins, witch hats, wreaths, and garlands is adding those extra details that make each piece unique.
Think faux florals, leaves, greenery, and ribbons. You can get creative with what you already have at home, or browse your local craft store and pick up whatever catches your eye.
Each of the 16 patterns below includes suggestions for embellishments, but some of my personal favorites are seasonal floral picks, ribbon, and greenery. You can take the larger picks and easily trim them down with wire cutters, and the smaller flowers and leaves can be attached with a dab of hot glue.

This was my very first pumpkin design! You’ll work it in the round, using only half double and single crochet stitches, making it perfect if you’re an advanced beginner.

The Farmhouse Crochet Pumpkin Pattern works up easily with two strands of Bernat Maker held together. The pictured colors are Cream and Clay.
This pumpkin pattern is perfect for intermediate crocheters, as it comes in two sizes and creates the cutest star shape! You’ll work it in the round, using front and back post stitches, to make its unique shape.
#9 – The Sugar Crochet Pumpkin Pattern
The Sugar Crochet Pumpkin Pattern is #9 in the 16 Free Halloween Crochet Patterns round-up!
If you enjoy those cute little sugar pumpkins you find around Thanksgiving, you’re going to love this one!
You’ll work this pattern in the round, using the lemon peel stitch. It has no ribbing, making it a really quick one to work up. You can also play around a bit and turn it into an apple, as the shape is very similar.

You’re going to love the next one! The Crochet Pixie Hat Pattern is a fall favorite, but it also makes the perfect accessory for Halloween.
This quick project is great for advanced beginners and can easily transform into a gnome hat, a witch hat, or even part of a skeleton costume, as shown in the photo above.

#16 – Knitting Machine Pumpkin Stacks
