Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby | Free Crochet Pattern

Enjoy this free Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby pattern for Valentine’s Day! Dish scrubbies make the perfect Valentine’s gift for a teacher, friend, or neighbor. They will definitely get used over and over again.

I’ve been using similar dish scrubbies for years, and I suddenly had the idea of making one into a heart. Have you seen my crochet heart pattern yet? You may have seen it featured as part of my Crochet Heart Garland Pattern. It’s a very basic heart, made with just one round of stitches, but by adding an extra round, it transforms the heart into a useful Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby!!

For this Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby, I used two strands of scrubby yarn held together. I like my scrubby extra thick and two strands gave it a little more to grab onto. You can even go up to three strands if you’d like, just adjust your hook accordingly.

The Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby pattern is an advanced beginner pattern, worked in the round, and only uses basic crochet stitches throughout. This is a great project to stock up on for gifts and markets, as it works up in only a few minutes.

Yarn

The Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby is written using size 4 worsted weight, scrubby yarn (2 strands held together). Two strands held together made the scrubby thicker and easier to handle.

I used Red Heart Scrubby Stripes Yarn in the color Peachy. I made four scrubbies out of one skein.

Tip: When using two strands held together, you can use one skein and pull from the outside and center of each skein. I found this yarn easily accommodated that method without tangling much.

Sizing

The finished Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby measures approximately 4 inches across at the widest point.

Packaging Ideas

I love to gift my Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby in cute packaging, which includes cleaning instructions. I used 4″x4″ clear cellophane bags and printed out sticker labels through Avery online. Avery has a bunch of pre-made designs to choose from, but you can also create your own. I used round label size 22807 and printed them at home.

For a cute Valentine’s gift, I added a heart towel, mini spatulas, and tied it together with a Crochet Heart Dish Scrubby on top.
